Hi,

I tried installing Oracle installer using oui.exe( from Oracle install folder) instead of setup.exe. Anybody could let me know what is the pros and cons in using oui.exe instead of using setup.exe for installation?

Thanks

Why don't you want to use the setup.exe?

OUI = Oracle Universal Installer

Does it mean that you tried to install OUI using OUI?

Thanks for the response.

I am using oui.exe for installing Oracle Universal Installer (OUI).

The purpose behind using the oui.exe instead of using setup.exe is because I am unable to get the return code of the command executed using setup.exe. Instead if I use oui.exe, it returns the return code of the command as 0 or -1 (success or failure).

Ultimately I wanted to track the result of the OUI installer if it is success or failure and condition my installer which uses Oracle as an Internal database.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.
